NYK Logistics Renews With Yamaha

NYK Logistics (UK) Ltd has renewed its contract with Yamaha Music (UK) Ltd for the operation of its National Distribution Centre, handling musical instruments and audio visual equipment.
Yamaha supplies a wide range of musical instruments to leading rock, pop and classical music stars, as well the general public. As part of its contract with Yamaha, NYK is responsible for the dispatch of the company’s full range of instruments, ranging from piccolos to high-value grand pianos, as well as specialist equipment such as PA systems and mixing desks.

Along with leading electrical superstores and independent music shops, Yamaha products have been supplied to many major venues around the UK and Ireland, with the company’s equipment being used at a number of the music festivals that took place over the summer.

NYK plays a key role in managing Yamaha’s storage and distribution requirements by providing a flexible service. Orders are received by electronic data interchange with small items despatched by a nominated parcel carrier. Dedicated vehicles deliver upright and grand pianos, which are transported on protective shoes then re-assembled at dealers by highly trained delivery crews. NYK reworks various mass-market products and handles promotions and exhibitions, as well as direct deliveries to schools across the UK.
